Business & Marketing Education: Online Master’s Degree

Admission criteria

Admission to the online master’s program will be based on the following criteria:

  • Completed bachelor’s degree (from a regionally accredited institution)
  • Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in the last 60 hours of course work *
  • Statement of Purpose from the Personal Data Sheet
  • Résumé or curriculum vitae (CV)
  • Two letters of recommendation (Letters should attest to your professional competence, academic preparation and potential for graduate work.)
  • If your native language is other than English, the Test of English as a Foreign Language ( TOEFL) is required.  A score of at least 500 on a TOEFL administered within the last two years is required.

* The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is not required for consideration for admission.  However, applicants with a GPA below 3.0 will be eligible for consideration with competitive GRE scores:

  • If you have taken the GRE composed of Verbal, Quantitative and Analytical sections, a total score of 1500 is expected, or a minimum of 500 on each section;
  • If you took the new GRE version composed of Verbal, Quantitative and Writing sections, a minimum of 500 is expected on Verbal, 500 on Quantitative and 3.5 on Writing.

Taking the GRE is strongly recommended for applicants who plan to continue on to a doctoral-level degree program after earning the master’s degree, even if you meet the other admission criteria.

Preference will be given to applicants with competitive GRE scores or who possess a valid teaching certificate in any discipline.
