This program does not provide early childhood special education certification, nor does it provide the initial certification required to become a teacher. Missouri does not have an initial certification in Early Childhood Special Education. For those seeking an add-on certification in Early Childhood Special Education, an initial certification in Early Childhood Education is required. Information about Early Childhood Education initial certification is available through MU’s Teacher Development Program (TPD).
